Hello, curious art fans! I am Annie Bailey, a fine artist, and photographer from White Sulphur Springs, Montana. I’m excited to be featured by Hattie Rex and hope you can stop in while my work is on display. This is an all-new collection of work that I have created for the 100 Day Project, an annual initiative that encourages artists to create one new piece of work every day for 100 days. The project wraps up July 11th, and I have included my favorite illustrations from the series so far. Here are some little facts about me:
Five things I can’t live without:
- Music - I listen to music all day every day!
- Coffee - need I say more?
- Traveling - getting out and seeing Montana and everywhere else!
- Animals - dogs, cats, sheep, alpacas, I don’t discriminate. They’re all awesome.
- Friends and Family - they keep me going! (That’s technically two things)
I’m often asked what influences my work, and I would have to say that the biggest influence has been the landscape of Montana. I grew up on my family’s ranch near White Sulphur Springs, and it was an absolutely fantastic way to be a kid. I learned to love the landscape from an early age and to appreciate the changes of seasons that we experience here. The vividness of the Spring to the understated tones of Winter are all things that I learned to see and apply to my work. I am very passionate about what I do, and I can’t imagine doing anything else with my life. About ten years ago, I began taking photographs and have added that to my creative skill set, and often travel taking landscapes of rural Montana. I hope you enjoy my work, and thanks for reading!
