Meet Lindlee of Plains & Pine.

Lindlee Bartell Lindlee Lou handmade trucker hats Bozeman Montana Hattie RexWhere's home?

Bozeman has been home for several years, but I grew up on a farm and ranch outside of Wolf Point, MT.

What do you make?

Mainly I stitch and embroider Montana themes on trucker hats and onesies. I enjoy any project that gives me an excuse to shop for fabric.

Where do you create?

Out of my home.

What else have you done, other than being an artist?

I am employed full time in Accounting so I need to have my creative outlet whenever I get a chance.

What inspires you?

Hardworking people who do their work without complaint - whatever their work may be!

What's the hardest thing about being an artist?

I originally started making the hats and onesies as gifts, so adjusting to creating without a specific person in mind as the recipient was difficult. And not losing the enjoyment when turning a hobby into a money making activity.

How do you combat creative blocks?

The best ideas I have had definitely do not come to me when I'm trying for them. So if I'm having a hard time I just have to step away for a break.

What makes you feel alive?

Catching a trout on my fly rod, hiking to the top of the Ridge, the finish line of a run.

Who (or what or where) warms your heart?

My soon-to-be husband, baby animals (calves, puppies, kittens, otters, goats), handwritten letters and cards, and handmade gifts.
